Columbia Gorge Cat Rescue

Use this application if you are working directly with a Columbia Gorge Cat Rescue foster parent OR a Columbia Gorge Cat adoption counselor for local adoptions (Hood RIver and vicinity).

 

To adopt cats which are at our Petco partners in Portland,  you will need to fill out an application at the store for review and approval.

If interested in a particular cat, we encourage you to fill out an application first. Filling out an application does not commit you to taking the cat nor does it guarantee an adoption will follow. It simply allows us to start the dialog as to whether this is a good match. You may download from the website at and then email it

If you have expressed an interest in adopting a particular cat we will forward your information to the Adoption Counselor. All our ACs are volunteers, but generally you can expect a call or email back within 24 hours. We will discuss your application. Factors such as hours alone, experience and needs of the particular cat are all considered.

References are checked. If we have an application ahead of time and are able to check the references, and/ or rental agreement. If we are unable to contact references, he cat may be adopted to somebody else.

It is REQUIRED that the person adopting the cat or kitten meet the cat The meet and greet is for the both the cat’s benefit as well the family’s to determine if everyone is happy and compatible.

The adoption counselor will go over all information and the contract is signed.
