And many thanks to our wonderful donors, foster homes,
trappers, caregivers and other volunteers!
CGCR Began in 2007 when a small group of concerned people decided to help the abandoned and stray cats in our community who were being neglected by any government and private organizations.
We are a no-kill, volunteer, and nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and placing the community’s abandoned, neglected and injured cats and kittens into loving, lifetime homes. In 2013 we added our own clinic to offer spay and neuter services.
Columbia Gorge Cat Rescue provides adoption services, low or no cost spay/neuter program for stray and feral cats, and foster care homes to homeless cats.
Rehabilitate the community’s neglected, abandoned, and injured cats and kittens and place them into loving, lifetime homes.
Require 100% spay/neuter prior to adoption of all cats and kittens.
Reduce feline euthanasia as means of pet overpopulation control by spaying and neutering feral populations.
Develop pursuing new outreach opportunities to increase the number of adoptive homes available, while enriching the lives of people and pets in our community.
Maintain a high standard of overall health for each cat that comes into our care. Cats are euthanized only if their condition is untreatable and their quality of life is poor.
Provide solutions and resources to our community as we can with the resources we have.
Strengthen the human-animal bond by educating families regarding medical, husbandry, and behavioral issues that may jeopardize the bond.
As a nonprofit organization (501(c)3), we receive no government funding and rely on the generous support of the public and volunteers.
